The class was excellent. Matthew is very knowledgeable and leaving the class I not only felt more comfortable using my handgun but the class also vastly increased my knowledge of the legal aspects of using weapons in self-defense; including when it is acceptable and when it is not acceptable to use force. I would highly recommend this class to anyone interested in owning a handgun regardless of intentions to conceal or not because the knowledge gained is invaluable in time of need.

Matt puts on a great class… I recommend it to anyone wishing to increase their knowledge of firearms safety.

The decision to carry concealed is a great responsibility. The class taught by Matthew Ashby helped me to feel more comfortable in my decision to bear this responsibility. Having recently moved to Kentucky, I was looking for a qualified and capable instructor–I found both in Mr. Ashby. The material presented in the class provides an extensive overview and explanation of the applicable laws regarding conceal carry. Mr. Ashby’s wide knowledge of the various handguns available for concealed carry helped in the selection of the weapon that would best suit my needs. My wife is a novice with handguns. She was made to feel comfortable and more confident in her handling of a handgun greatly due to Mr. Ashby’s demeanor on the range. Whether you are a novice seeking instruction or a seasoned handgunner looking for a class that will fulfill your education requirements for concealed carry in the State of Kentucky, Matthew Ashby’s class will prepare you for a lifestyle of respectful and responsible use of handguns.

I’ve known Matt for several years, a real good friend through church, martial arts and motorcycles. Matt invited to take his carry & conceal class, which I know I needed. Having had my personal firearms and having a four year tour with the U.S. Army, I thought I pretty much had a good grasp of the situation. I learned plenty not only about the law, but plenty about care & a common sense approach to carrying a sidearm.
This class was excellent, a very relaxed and no pressure atmosphere. Matt’s goal is to inform which insures one’s gleaning all the information, and ensuring one’s passing the class with ease. Matt’s teaching is so good, my only regret is not taking my two sons with me.
If anyone takes this course and somehow fails the test, they need to get rid of all their weapons immediately. I would highly-HIGHLY recommend the course to anyone and encourage them to seek Matt Ashby out as their instructor.
